This World Bank–funded project aimed to enhance productivity and profitability across Uzbekistan’s horticulture sector by promoting farm economics, management skills, and agrotechnology transfer. Rahmanov Partners, collaborating with GINGER-SOFRECO and Global Advisor, acted as a focal point between the implementing partners and the Ministry of Agriculture’s International Strategic Centre for Agri-Food Development (ISCAD). Their mission included resolving financial issues, recruiting experts, and facilitating stakeholder engagement. Key activities encompassed pest, weed, and disease mapping; development of manuals, laminated guides, and smartphone apps; establishment of demonstration plots for fruit and vegetable production and post-harvest handling; support for training programs with local and international experts; and renewable energy potential assessments for the horticultural sector. The project also prioritized widespread dissemination of information through publications, media, and digital platforms. These initiatives were designed to improve yields, product quality, safety, and export potential, ultimately benefiting around 12,000 farmers and 600 agribusinesses.
